三类境是慈恩宗（唯识宗）关于辨认一切境相（唯识四分中的相分）的学说。三境是性境、独影境、带质境。它的名义和性质，如《成唯识论掌中枢要》叙述唐·玄奘法师所作的一个颂文说︰‘性境不随心，独影唯随见，带质通情本，性种等随应。’窥基又在《大乘法苑义林章》中也跟着这样阐说。窥基的弟子慧沼法师在《成唯识论了义灯》中更详加解释。 但诸论中从来没有说过三类境的名目，所以它是玄奘探诸论意的创说（据《成唯识论学记》引慧沼之说，这是奘师依《瑜伽师地论》卷七十二中‘本性相、影像相’的意义而建立的
